How to run it
- 1.Set upHalf a Mini Red court, one player + coach. Foam ball + child-sized racket. 5-min set.
- 2.PositioningPlayer stands inside the service box, racket held out like a tray. Recover to the same spot after each bounce.
- 3.FootworkNo travel — emphasis on watching the ball all the way into the catch. Knees softly bent.
- 4.ProgressionBeginner: catch the ball after one bounce. Intermediate: catch on the rise (before second bounce). Advanced: bounce-catch alternating forehand/backhand sides.
Coaching cue
"Eyes on the ball." "Soft hands like an egg." "Tray steady — don't tip the ball off."
